Zen E, Musician, professional Pipa and Guzheng player, composer and Chinese instrumental music arranger Graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Mr. Zen holds a Master of Arts in Pipa performance and had Guzheng performance as his second major. As a professional Pipa and Guzheng player: 2002 – 2009: Mr. Zen successfully held several solo concerts both in China and overseas, including concerts at the Shanghai Art Theatre, the Shanghai He Luting Concert Hall, the Osaka International Festival Hall in Japan, and the Summer Palace in Gothenburg, Sweden. 2008 – 2010: Zen E worked with Universal Music in Beijing and joined Sa Ding Ding's band as the Pipa and Guzheng player. He performed for the “2008 BBC World Music Award” in the Royal Albert Hall in London as the starting point of the band's world tour. During the world tour, Zen E visited and performed at top venues in 29 countries and regions covering Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania. He also performed in worldwide music festivals including the WOMAD Festival. 2011-2015: Zen E became the guest Guzheng player in the first Reggae band in China called Long Sheng Dao (Tai Chi Reggae) and started touring with the band in China, New Zealand, Korea and Canada. In particular, during 2013 and 2014, Zen E and Tai Chi Reggae visited and performed in over 30 cities and regions in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta in Canada and attended over 20 music festivals including the RBC Royal Bank Blues Fest in Ottawa, together with Lady Gaga, Snoopy Dog and other artists.
